My mom knew some people stuck in New Orleans. The cops were telling people to get out since some gangs were headed their way with Ak-47 rifles.. and the cops were leaving too. Anyway, people who are hungry or have a beef with society are just plain dangerous after the lights go out. Better just to leave. Bug out.

A van, RV, motorcycle, 4-wheel drive, etc are all vulnerable to the effects of an EMP blast that could be caused by a nuclear bomb going off. Watch "The Day After" the cars die just before they see/feel the bombs go off. All your electrical components get fried. Please someone tell me the facts on which vehicles are or how to make them EMP proof. All I find on the internet is hearsay and guesses.

Bicycles

Bicycles are great. They don't require any sort of fuel or electronics to run which may be hard to get/not working after a nuclear or other disaster and they can squeeze between backed up traffic. What is missing is a way to carry all your bug out gear. Here is the solution:

On Foot

Bugging out on foot. If you have a toddler or baby you need a wagon to carry them and or some supplies. Then a backpack for you and whoever else. A single guy might be better with a bicycle(see above)
